The Phantobrot is a Hardmode enemy that begins spawning in the Fractal Dimension after the Selfsimilar Sentinel is defeated and the player has accrued over 15/10 minutes of Fractalizing. It rapidly moves around the player and passes through blocks, randomly alternating between three attacks:
- Positions itself above the player and attempt to drop onto them, falling off-screen before resuming its attacks.
- Moves to above them and a varying distance to the side before freezing in place and firing a barrage of lasers at their last position for about a second.
- Moves above them before freezing in place to rotate as it releases a spray of numerous sparks above itself and to its sides in an arch-like shape that fall slowly and attempt to align themselves vertically with the player in the process.

- It is based on the Mandelbrot set fractal.
- The name is a portmanteau of Phantom and Mandelbrot.
- It was previously known as the Fractal Spirit, continuing the trend of spirit enemies such as the Alkali Spirit and Molten Spirit. The name was changed to make it more unique.
