The Girus Core is a Pre-Hardmode Core. Unlike other cores, it is not crafted directly, and is instead obtained from opening Omega's Gift. When equipped, it grants 5% increased damage reduction, 8% increased damage and it turns you into an omega android which grants:
- Immunity to knockback; Bleeding, Confused, Poisoned, On Fire!, Venom, Burning and Electrified debuffs
- Increased jump height and movement speed
However, being an android affects you with these weaknesses:
- Your life regeneration is slightly reduced
- You will rapidly lose life while submerged in water, and you will explode after dying
- You will slowly lose life during Rain while on the surface, and not behind a wall, holding an Umbrella or wearing the Rain Hat

- This accessory, unlike most other cores, is more challenge-oriented as it grants various boosts and various weaknesses more than the others. This makes the core more useful in areas with less water and areas below surface more than other areas.
- When this accessory is equipped, certain bosses have unique interactions with the player.
- if you wear a hazmat suit or an HEV suit, you will not take any damage from being in water, affectively removing the biggest weakness of the girus core.
