The Crimtane Storage Upgrade allows to upgrade a 
Storage Unit with 40 capacity to a 
Crimtane Storage Unit with 80 capacity. Its equivalent in Corruption-infested worlds is the 
Demonite Storage Upgrade. While 
Crimtane Ore is available in small amounts since world creation, the requirement for 10 bars (meaning 30 ore blocks in total) make this upgrade much faster to obtain by defeating the Eye of Cthulhu and Brain of Cthulhu bosses for their ore drops.
