The Frying Pan is a Pre-Hardmode sword that is purchased from the Demolitionist for 2 after defeating either the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu. It acts like a regular broadsword, but critical hits inflicted by it will deal three times its base damage instead of the usual two and it has a significantly high chance to deal critical hits.

Trivia[]
- This item is a direct reference to the weapon of the same name from Team Fortress 2.
- As is the case with the Holy Mackerel, the fact that this item deals triple damage on a critical hit is a reference to TF2, in which critical hits deal triple damage instead of Terraria's double damage critical hits.
- Its increased critical hit chance is in reference to the Frying Pan's memetic status in TF2, where it is often jokingly said to have nearly guaranteed critical hits because of the inherently increased crit rate of melee weapons and how players often go out of their way to attack with it.
- Like the other Frying Pan items, this item's tooltip references the Demopan fad often associated with the item in TF2. This is also why the item is sold by the Demolitionist.
