Chaos Armor is a craftable armor set crafted from armor themed around Chaos Biomes, Tundra, Desert, Ocean and The Void. To craft it, any of the armor mentioned + 3 Chaos Prisms are required to craft one piece. (7 are needed to craft all helmets including other pieces)
It consists of Chaos Greaves, Chaos Dou, and Chaos Kabuto/Chaos Fukumen/Chaos Mask/Chaos Visor.
The Chaos Dou grants 22 defense and 7% increased damage; the Chaos Greaves grants 20 defense, 10% increased movement speed and 7% increased damage. The Chaos Kabuto grants 26 defense and 24% increased melee damage; the Chaos Fukumen grants 15 defense and 24% increased ranged critical strike chance; the Chaos Mask grants 18 defense, increases maximum mana by 80, 20% increased magic damage and critical strike chance and allows waterbreathing and the Chaos Visor grants 15 defense and 30% increased minion damage.
A full set provides 74 with Kabuto, 61 with Fukumen and 64 with Mask/Visor equipped. The set bonus grants stats depending on the helmet worn:
When worn with Kabuto; 10% increased melee speed, enemies are more likely to target you, taking damage inflicts On Fire! to enemies and melee attacks inflict Hydratoxin and Dragon Fire.
When worn with Fukumen; 25% increased ranged damage, 25% chance to not consume ammo, enemies are less likely to target you, you are granted with Night Vision and Hunter buffs and your ranged attacks inflict Hydratoxin and Dragon Fire.
When worn with Mask; Being submerged in liquids grants Chaotic Fury buff, which increases your magic abilities drastically, you can swim and you have uninhibited movement in liquids.
When worn with Visor; Increases your maximum minions by 4 and it summons a chaotic dragon soul to ravage your foes.

- Chaos Armor has an counterpart called Terra armor, crafted from armor related to evil biomes, dungeon and underworld.
- In the previous versions, this armor set was crafted from the true armor set pieces. Since they were removed, the pre-HM biome set pieces are used instead.
- Due to that, the sprites of the armor are based on the true armor helmets.
- Also in the previous versions, this armor set had two more helmets for melee and ranged which were technically alternative to melee and ranged: There was a Chaos Helmet which built a defensive-oriented melee set, and Chaos Dragonskull, which built an utility-based ranged set.
